Market transformation ideas in process

CalMTA currently has six Market Transformation Initiative (MTI) ideas moving through the MTI development process. Each of these ideas has an Advancement Plan that describes the research and investigation that are needed to form a Market Transformation theory, complete a full MTI Plan, and determine the scope for future implementation. In addition, CalMTA is engaged in Phase I of development for a Commercial Building Efficiency Accelerator (CBEA) idea. Preliminary information about this idea can be found in the 2024 Request for Ideas: Phase I Update Memo and in recording of our Feb. 19 MTAB meeting (referred to here as the Building Performance Standard Acceleration idea). We anticipate releasing the CBEA Advancement Plan for public comment in July 2025.
